Trump warns Iran: 'Clock is Ticking' before 'there won't be anything left of them'

President Donald Trump warned Iran that the "Clock is Ticking" for them to "get moving" before "there won't be anything left of them," following reports that he and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu discussed resuming war on Iran. A ceasefire has been in place since April 8.
US President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iran, saying the "Clock is Ticking" for them to "get moving" before "there won't be anything left of them." His remarks came amid repeated threats for Tehran to agree to a ceasefire. "TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!" he said on Truth Social.
Context of warning
Trump's warning followed Israeli media reports that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the possibility of resuming war on Iran during a phone call. An unnamed Israeli source said "the issue of striking Iran remains uncertain," and that if Trump decides to renew hostilities, "it is likely Israel will be called upon to join."
Ceasefire status
Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched strikes against Iran in February. A ceasefire took effect on April 8 through Pakistani mediation, but talks in Islamabad failed to produce a lasting agreement. Trump later extended the truce indefinitely.

Iran's position
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi recently said Tehran is trying to maintain the ceasefire to give diplomacy a chance, but trust is lacking in the US. He also stated that all vessels except those of countries at war with Iran can transit the Strait of Hormuz.
